SMS PTA

The Stroudsburg Middle School (SMS) PTA is an independent, not for profit organization made up of dedicated parents, family members, teachers and staff who volunteer their time to strengthen the SMS Community. 

 

What We Do

The SMS PTA operates under the guidance of the Pennsylvania PTA and National PTA.  We work to fulfill the National PTA’s mission:  to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.  The PTA supports the SMS community in many ways, including:

  • SMS field trips (financial support)

  • Scholastic Book Fair

  • SMS Spiritwear

  • Halloween Dance

  • RISE events

  • And more!

 

Ways to Participate

  • Become a member:  PTA Membership paper application    or  PTA Membership online application   The paper application can be returned to the main office.

  • Participate in PTA conversations: PTA meetings will be held every other month either in person at the SMS Library or online via Zoom. All meetings are at 6:00pm.

    • Tuesday, September 10, 2024, 6:00pm at SMS 

    • Tuesday, November 12, 2024, 6:00pm via Zoom 

    • Tuesday, January 14, 2025, 6:00pm at SMS 

    • Tuesday, March 11, 2025, 6:00pm via Zoom

    • Tuesday, May 13, 2025, 6:00pm at SMS Library - Elections to be held for 2025 - 2026

  • Volunteer: The PTA is a volunteer organization. Volunteer opportunities are discussed at PTA meetings and will be posted on Facebook. There are always multiple opportunities, varying in commitment size and type!  To volunteer in school, you will need to obtain background clearances.   Clearances link with directions    

  • Support Fundraisers: PTA fundraising supports field trips and other events/projects based on need and as funding is available.  Look for fundraising efforts to be announced throughout the year, such as Krispy Kreme donuts, Pierogies, Five Below, etc.
