Music
All students in 5th, 6th and 7th grade will have a general music class for 22 days each year. Students will experience music and its relation to history and culture. They will have a chance to listen to and analyze music and its form. Students will perform music by singing and playing pitched and non pitched instruments. They will have the opportunity to create and compare melodies, rhythms, harmony and tone color.Mrs. Jodi Colon
Mrs. Colon has been teaching music since 1988. Her first position was in Pleasant Valley as 5th grade band director, 4th grade choral director and 1-4 general music. She has been teaching in Stroudsburg since 1989. She now holds a position at the Stroudsburg Middle School as the 5th and 6th grade choral director and 5th -7th grade general music. Mrs. Colon earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Mansfield University with a Masters in Education. Her major instrument is the pipe organ. She is also a saxophonist and vocalist. She has worked as a studio musician and performer. She has played organ in many of the local churches and sings in a contemporary rock band called "Vital Signs."jcolon@sburg.org
