Math Specialists - Grade 7
Algebra I, the highest level math in seventh grade, is taught by our 7th grade math specialist. In order to be placed in this class, students must meet three of four pre-determined criteria. Math specialists also teach Basic Math 7 in a small class setting. These classes move at a slower pace to enable the students to strengthen skills, fill in gaps and gain confidence. Varied teaching techniques are used dependent upon the material presented/reviewed. We continuously review topics previously taught. In addition to the curriculum, students prepare for standardized testing. Instruction is also provided to students during period 9 in an Edge class to help them prepare for the math portion of the PSSA test.
