Computer Literacy

As computers continue to play a vital role in the lives of students in the Middle School grades, the computer technology program is designed to provide students with touch type keyboarding and information processing skills.

Computer technology classes are designed for students to:

  • develop an awareness and understanding of the value and importance of touch typing
  • provide the opportunity for all students to acquire and apply the touch typing skill
  • provide the opportunity for all students to use the computer effectively and efficiently in order to process information

5th Grade
Students will:

  • review/reinforce touch typing skills using meaningful activities
  • review and maintain proper keyboarding techniques
  • use the touch type method of keyboarding
  • use the correct fingering for each alphabetic key and the common marks of punctuation
  • use proper spacing following punctuation marks
  • develop skills toward using the computer, especially for word processing
  • develop and enhance proofreading and editing skills

6th Grade
Students will:

  • review/reinforce touch typing skills using meaningful activities
  • review and maintain proper keyboarding techniques
  • use the touch type method of keyboarding
  • use the correct fingering for each alphabetic key and the common marks of punctuation
  • use proper spacing following punctuation marks
  • develop skills toward using the computer, especially for word processing
  • develop and enhance proofreading and editing skills

7th Grade
Students will:

  • use the correct fingering for each alphabetic key and the common marks of punctuation

  • develop skills toward using the computer, especially for word processing desktop publishing, and presentation software
  • develop and enhance proofreading and editing skills

Mrs. Michelle Brozusky

Mrs. BrozuskyMrs. Brozusky began teaching in the Stroudsburg Area School District in 2000.  She was born and raised in Columbia, PA but moved to Stroudsburg in 2000 after graduating from Bloomsburg University with her bachelors degree in Business Education.  Mrs. Brozusky received her masters degree in Classroom Technology from Wilkes University in 2005.  Mrs. Brozusky resides with her husband Victor, their three daughters Meghan, Erin, and Rachael and their dog Fred.

Mrs. Christa Forgione

Mrs. ForgioneMrs. Forgione began teaching business and computers at Stroudsburg in 2001.  She was so happy to return to her alma mater.  She graduated from Bloomsburg University with a BS in Business Education and holds a master's degree in Reading from East Stroudsburg University.  She currently teaches 5th and 6th grade Computer Literacy at the Middle School.  She is married with two wonderful children who make every day fun and exciting!
