5th and 6th Grade

Fifth and sixth grade basketball is an intramural activity run by Mr. White and Mr. Haggerty.  Teams are formed in early November.  Boys will play against boys and girls against girls. Usually around 200 players are in the program with 8 teams of boys and four girls.  Parents volunteer to help coach the kids.  Practices are two nights per week, and are run from 5:30 until 7:00 PM. Games will be on Saturdays in December and January.  Each boys’ team will play the other once in a round robin and the girls will play each other twice.  In January we will play all Saturdays and games are scheduled the last week instead of practices.

7th and 8th Grade

The Stroudsburg Junior High boys basketball team is made up of seventh and eighth graders. There are two teams that practice together and have their games back-to-back.  All practices are held at the middle school and the 8th graders ride a shuttle bus after school.  This program is designed to introduce student athletes to interscholastic competition while focusing on the fundamentals of basketball. All of the home games are played at the middle school unless otherwise noted. All participants must have a completed PIAA physical form in order to try out for the team. These forms can be picked up at the Middle School office, the Junior High office, or the Athletic Office. The first official try-out date is the third Monday in November.  The season ends mid-February.
