About Our School

The Stroudsburg Middle School is by far one of the most technically advanced buildings with the most beautiful panoramic view of the Delaware Water Gap. Our staff utilizes a team approach to provide our students with a "small school within a school" learning environment that fosters our building's vision.

Our vision is to provide the students with an optimal middle school experience that will positively impact their future educational goals.  We promote acceptance, responsibility, respect and hard work.  This is the best age to teach children good character and how to make wise choices.  We have a well-organized, positive reward system in place to motivate and offer recognition for responsible and respectful behavior.

Nine Elements of Good Decision Making

  1. Understanding the importance of decision-making (choices matter)
  2. Declaring a decision (stop, think, decide)
  3. Concept of decision making (judging a decision, identifying possible outcomes)
  4. Framing a decision (best decision does not mean first decision)
  5. Creative alternates (proposal of other alternate decisions)
  6. Useful Information (need to gather additional information to make best decision)
  7. Clear values (identify whats most important, identify potential tradeoffs)
  8. Sound reasoning (before you act, check with someone else if decision is logical)
  9. Commitment to Follow Through (state obstacles but live through decisions)
